1957 Topps Cousy CSG 6 wondering about PSA crossover

Don't know much about CSG except they are legit. Here is a 1957 Topps Cousy
graded by CSG at a 6. Curious what this would grade in PSA crossover ?

Maybe a 6. Center top to bottom. Some minor surface issues possibly. Corners are nice but not exactly sharp.

Does it have sub grades?

CSG is legit with pretty accurate standards. If I had to guess I’d peg this as a PSA 5.5

If cracked and submitted, by current PSA standards I think your max grade achievable is a PSA 5. The corners (top Right in particular) will hold it back from anything higher.

Very nice image for sure -- unusually so -- but does not have the centering for the half-grade bump, IMO.

That is a nice looking Cousy. Top right corner makes getting a 6 unlikely but not impossible. I am guessing no higher than a 5.5. Image quality certainly is in the 6 category. Centering is not bad at all for this card.

No sub grades....I do like that option with CSG

Agree with everyone else here. Crack out and submit to PSA for a 5-6 grade and you’re in line for a major value increase as compared to what you probably paid for it in the CSG holder, unless you bought it raw and submitted to them but that doesn’t sound like it is the case here.

Nice card for the issue, great centering, but touched corners hold it back. PSA 5 tops, but with their stricter grading, maybe even a 4. My mine question is, a key / popular card of this HOFer, why is it in this holder? Was it a past PSA sub that didn't cut it?

Be very careful crossing over CSG cards for vintage. From looking on eBay, the majority of the cards for vintage are over graded. With the old labels, getting a CSG 9.5 Gem Mint was much harder than PSA, but this does not mean they grade harder for all grades. Once CSG grades get under 8.5, PSA/SGC grades much tougher IMO. For lower grades it almost seems they use a BVG scale, which makes sense since the lead graders came from Beckett and were lead graders for BVG.

Early CSG vintage cards were an absolute mess. I saw CSG 7's with ink marks on the back. I saw CSG 5's which had creases. It seems like they tightened things up as they went along, but I would not trust the slabs unless you can see the cards in person.
