No one knows for sure, but I would guess that the print runs are the same or similar. The 1982 sets were released earlier, so there was addition time for sales and scarcity to develop. The 1982 set with Flair/Hogan/Andre has always been most popular, so most likely cards from that set are locked up in collections compared to the others.
