This is probably a sillly question, but would $1500 be able to buy me an N172 Old Judge or N162 Goodwin Champion HOF card?
I imagine not but I wanted to get some advice from the experienced collectors here. I’d love to add one example of each eventually to my HOF collection. They are SUCH great cards! Thanks for any advice… and if my $1500 budget is light, what is the cost to entry to find a HOFer from these sets realistically? Thanks again, Jeff |

Absolutely you can. Some of the best players in N172 are also some of the most common cards in the set, and you can still pick those up for under $1500. I paid about $1000 each for Clarkson and Keefe last year.

Great, thx! Another member pointed me to the REA auction which looks like it might have several options to look in on

You'll find it challenging to find an Anson or Kelly N162 for $1500 unless it's in poor condition. That would leave Brouthers and Keefe.
There are many N172 HOFers and many priced below $1500. Do yourself a favor and find one with the best image quality possible. Don't worry too much about the back of the card.
