This RPPC is from March 1911 when the Chicago White Sox trained in Mineral Wells, Texas. I am confident of that, but what I am not confident in is the identify of the player. Anyone know who this is?

I'm going to take a stab without looking for comparisons just for fun(the forensic ear as nose folks will be here shortly to get to work). I'm gonna say,.....Donahue

congrats on the pic up. I was interested as it is from spring training in Mineral Wells (very popular donkey rides there then)

Jim,
Here are the stats of the 1911 Chicago White Sox at Baseball-Reference.com. When you click on each name, a picture comes up on the next page. https://www.baseball-reference.com/t...1-roster.shtml |

also I would suggest if you have newspapers.com account reading the reports from spring training to get a better ST roster as they would have players who didnt make the team as well.
Ive done a ton of research on the White Sox ST from 1916-1919 and IDed group photos and it can be challenging to find photos of the minor leaguers who may have never made the big leagues or worse...example...try to find a photo of Gwynn Williams who trained with the White Sox in 1918 and 1919 who was apparently a local teenager (18-19yo) possibly serving in the Army stationed near by....it can be more than challenging lol |

Putting my chips down on Jesse Baker.
And he was with the Sox in ST in 1911 |

I was also thinking Jesse Baker, but I couldn't say for sure.

Not to question your date & place, but this reminds me of the famous image of the White Sox in Royal Gorge, Colorado, from 1911 I think.

Thanks for all the replies so far, a few look like possibilities and that is my dilemma so keep them coming. I originally thought it is reminiscent of the Royal Gorge as well, but aside from the front Mineral Wells attribution I also found a March 1911 newspaper article about Mineral Wells presenting the White Sox players with burros which had a photo of Ed Walsh on a burro in the same location.

Here is a good list of players in camp on 3-3-1911
Yes it is unquestionably Mineral Wells, the donkey rides were a thing they did. |

I have no knowledge, but this is really cool to me, as I'm not too far away in Fort Worth.
