Surprised no one on here mentioned that the greatest baseball player that ever will walk on the face of the earth died August 16, 1948 at 8:01. That's 72 years ago and I bet a few of the kids who held vigil outside his hospital room are still alive. RIP #3.

A lot of fans know their hero’s birthday, probably fewer know the date of that same hero’s passing. You said it...there will never be another Babe Ruth !! He transcends baseball, he’s one of the most famous people ever! Rest In Peace, Babe...
