Hi All,
My father-in-law recently used some "quarantine time" to dig into my Grandfather-in-law's old safe (he unfortunately passed away in the early 2000's). Turns out he was a coin collector, and we are thinking about selling some of his old stuff. I've done some preliminary research, but wanted to get this board's opinion as well. I've glanced at eBay, but not sure how much condition factors into the appraisal? What is the approximate value on some of these? I've got connections to a couple of pawn shops, but what is typically the best avenue for sales? Various Quarters from 1959-1965 (Majority in similar condition as below) - I see these around $4 each on eBay: ![]() ![]() Various Half-Dollars from 1961-1965 (Majority in similar condition as below) - I see these around $7 on eBay: ![]() ![]() Early 90's Walking Liberty Silver Dollars (Very Good Condition) - I see these around $20-$23 on eBay: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Late 80's Canadian $5 Coins (Condition varies) - Seen these up to $20 each on eBay: ![]() ![]() Thanks for any help!!! |

the coins your showing are not Rare, even in the Almost Uncirculated Condition
that yours seem to be so if sold on ebay , the fees will hurt bottom line , if you only have small quantities, but there are lots of trusted buyers of silver coins on Net 54 , hassle free and no fees and I agree 100% DO NOT TAKE THEM TO ANY PAWN SHOP , they will try and pay you only melt value. http://cointrackers.com/coins/74/196...y-half-dollar/
http://www.coinflation.com/ These sites will give you current melt values for your silver coins, and they update the value on a daily basis, following rise and fall of bulk silver values. They also give you a rough idea of whether or not your coins have any collector value, in addition to the silver value. Rick

You will probably find some buyers here if you price them correctly. There’s not much collector value - It should bring a little value above the melt price and the silver value could be substantial if there are many of these pieces.
