Default 1974 Washington National League

I found this while doing some unrelated research in Sporting News archives available at Paper of Record in the research section of the SABR page. Interesting initial perspective on the Topps Washington fiasco.

The article implies it was only 2 sheets which were printed with the Washington designation, but in fact the 1st three sheets were initially printed this way (the article does get the names of the impact players correct).

Overlooked is the fact that all 5 sheets were initially formatted with "Washington", and later changed. The remaining 2 sheets were never meant to be printed with "Washington" designators, but that pesky Freisleben snuck through because someone didn't look at the 4-player rookie cards too closely (wish that same someone didn't notice the Winfield).

Anyway, thought it was a neat find.
