Default Has Anyone Ever Discovered, Sold and Re-Acquired A Card? T212-3 Weaver

As I was browsing my current collection of types and other things I found a card not listed on my site or my collection yet. Sort of a forgotten about card. This T212-3 Weaver was originally found in, what I termed, the Trucker Boy Collection. It is from approximately 17-18 yrs ago, from Ebay but not ever listed there. I am literally the second owner of this card (the owner inherited it from his dad or granddad), and the 4th owner now.
It was sold in my 2015 collection sale and reacquired on our BST 6 months ago.
Has anyone else discovered, sold and re-acquired a card?

Very cool! Yes I've done it multiple times including one card I bought, sold, traded back for, traded away and traded back

Great back story Leon. I have one too.

I purchased a collection in 2014 which included nearly 100 raw untouched Ramly's from an estate seller in California. The older gentleman whose estate was auctioned off who had passed we believe was the original owner of these cards. They were found stored in old tobacco tins which also included an original Ramly box.

The cards were sent to Sgc and all were sold except for one. Shortly thereafter our dear friend Jim Blumenthal contacted me and pleaded to sell him this one card which had been retained from the find. Having no intention of letting it go I continued to turn down Jim's many offers for weeks.

After this went on for some time Jim finally broke me down which ended in me selling him this card. Sadly just a couple short months later we lost Jim to cancer. It was a sad day for not only myself, but the entire hobby!

Fast forward 4 years later this very card pops up for auction outta no where. There was no way this card wasn't coming home and it did. It still resides with me today.

I just reacquired this the other night. It is the first E94 I ever owned. I sold it on the BST and always regretted it, just really like the card and knowing it belonged to Lionel makes it even better.

Hi Leon

Interesting topic. Here is my story, I completed my 1948 BOWMAN set in 1982. Then, in 1994, I sell this set to Alan Rosen.

Circa 2004, I get a call from an old friend, Tony, from the Jersey Shore area. He is selling his BB card collection. So, I get into
my old T-Bird and make the trip to Toms River. First, I check out his pre-war cards, then I start sorting thru his BOWMAN sets.

While I am going thru the 1948 set, I stop and take a close look at the Musial card, and instantly I realize that this was my set
which I sold to Rosen. The back of the Musial card has a distinct mark on it that was unmistakable. I asked Tony if he acquired
all 48 cards as a complete set, or did he put it together, piecemeal ? Tony replied that he bought this complete set from Rosen.

So, over a period of 22 years this set cycled back to me. I love this type of stuff.

Leon, i'm sure You'll remember this one, i'll never forget'em...
This is the 1st card that came to mind when You ask'd Your question ~

i sold'em to You, then re acquired Matty's Ghost from You through Your Auction.
i am so glad that this work'd out... i Really Like this card of Mr. Mathewson & Certainly felt some card loss after He was gone!

i'm sure when i look back through my cards i'll find at least one more...
