Is this what is meant by an "hourglass" border on a card - top and bottom both have a significant slant to the cut. Is this a warning sign the card may have been trimmed or could it have just been originally cut that way? Either way seems to really be driving the price down, and one of those things once you see it you can never unsee it and it bothers my OCD brain!

Gotcha, but is that a legit error in original cutting line or likely to be tampered?

Many diamond cuts are factory cut that way - falls under centering category - definitely distracting to the eye - not sure if a diamond cut is any greater likelihood that a card has been altered - I would imagine if the card measures right then it would just indicate a poor cut at the factory.

Likely original, if the cuts had different angles that is a red flag for tampering.

I've never understood why PSA is so lenient on these fairly bad diamond cuts. That example would be an 8 with the L/R centering (even if absolutely perfect otherwise). So like Matt mentioned, it's never going to sell close to the average 7
