Need some help with a vintage signature

I have this auto from a collection. Obviously it is Bob Smith. Unfortunately there have been about 50000 Bob Smiths to play professional sports over the past 100 years or so. It is certified by PSA but does not appear on the website. I tried contacting them but they never replied.

Any thoughts

I think it's Bob Smith that played baseball from 1925-1937. I only found one exemplar, and although the B is different, there are enough similar letter formations to believe that it's him.
