I tried to search the past threads regarding this issue and Leon can remove it if it’s been discussed at length in earlier conversations. My question is this: why is there much more discussion and price differential between the 205 and 206’s in relation to the scarcities of the backs? Is it as simple as the 206’s are more widely collected? Just curious. Thanks!

The T205 back with just a small ad at the bottom being the basic difference is not nearly as appealing as the T206 with a large and sometimes markedly different color back. And, as you said about 1000% more T206 collectors.
Here are the three toughest.... |

Actually it is this for me. I collect both t205 and t206 sets. For the t206 I want one of each of the different backs because of this. For t205, I don't care about the ads on the back. The stats and bios are more important.

Nice Hindu. Knew Pfiester existed in Hindu but never seen it. I assume the front is the same as the ot(er T205 Pfiester cards.

One salient point: PSA breaks out the various T206 backs, but does not specify T205s.
Something they should do, and having a Master Set Registry for T205 could only help by differentiating all the possible back combinations. Yes, plenty of people collect and store their cards raw, but I think this has a part to play in it. Has PSA ever addressed why they don't distinguish T205 brands? Even if they required people to pay for reholders, I think the registry contestants would be drawn in.

It is always the demand side of the equation that gives value. Supply can be 1 but if no one wants it, it's worthless. That said when I collected all of the backs I liked the T205s better. (me and a few other guys, the rest, not so much

I agree with T205 backs being more attractive and T205’s in general but we’re obviously in the minority here. Favorite back of all time though is from neither... T207 Cycles are the best looking of any of the tobacco backs imo.
