LINKS WON'T WORK BELOW - TRY THIS: http://s7.photobucket.com/user/rushg...0to%20identify
Any idea what these cards are? I couldn't find anything online about them. This one looks like it's from a game of some kind: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y26.../ruthcobb1.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y26.../ruthcobb2.jpg Someone told me this might be cut from a Goudey 4 in 1 card, but I couldn't find it anywhere online: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y26...ober/cobb1.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y26...ober/cobb2.jpg This Aaron card I have no clue on: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y26...ber/aaron1.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y26...ber/aaron2.jpg Thanks for any info! Gary I just upload them to the board via the website. Just click on the photo icon where you type in your message. Browse for your photo then upload it.

I try but it fails - it says jpegs have to be less than 19.5K - who on earth has images that small?

That's odd. I've never had that error and I am sure mine are not smaller than that.

The green one looks like some kind of print ad. It could be close to period and it's hard for me to tell. I would guess a little later decade...50s-60s? Not a great deal of value from what I can see on that. The other vintage cards look to be fantasy cards (never originally made and newer cards).....Good luck...
ps...I know nothing of the race card and also the Aaron could be something I have never seen before that is period for him...

Thanks so much! The Hank Aaron one I've been told is from a milk duds box. The Ty Cobb solo card is supposedly from a 1977 Jim Rowe 4 on 1 Exhibit set, except all those were bright yellow, and this one is white (though badly stained). Still insanely curious about the green one - still looks like it came from some sort of game to me, possibly not even a baseball or sports game since the question on the back is completely non-sports related.

I think you are right on the Trivia card and it is from a larger unrelated to sports set. From the general look of it, I would think late 50's, early 60's. I would think little value on it's own and hard to ID the set without the help of a vintage board game expert.

Regarding the green Trivia card - when I got it (as part of a large collection), it was labeled as 1930's game card - no idea whether that was accurate or just someone's guess. I guess I'll have to troll some vintage game boards to see if I can identify it. Whether it's worth anything or not, it is a pretty cool item. It's about as tall as a regular card and twice as wide. |
