Help - T206 Adkins - Why so much?
Hey, just starting to collect T206's. Figured I'd start with Eastern League players because I am from near Toronto and thought it would be as good as any place to start. Put a bid in on a Doc Adkins (Baltimore) card in PSA 3 condition. Checking SMR, the card is listed at $42 value. It's the PWCC auction and its a day in, and the card is already at $50. I checked other listings of the card on ebay and the prices on this card, in low conditions, seem really high in asking price.
Some listings note that the card is a 'tough common', but when I checked the POP report at the PSA site, the card had a average population. (near 300) Just wondering if any of you veteran T206 collectors had any insight on this topic, and if there are any other cards like this I may run into. *All the backs are of the common variety.
