Ruth premium photo question

Has anyone seen these before. Seem like a double weighted premium on a textured type of paper. Will Rogers came with the Babe.

Size is 7 3/8 x 9 1/4

Rogers and Ruth did visit children at a hospital together. Maybe they were giveaways to the kids?

I would say they are period pieces for sure and not a recent copy. Just the musty smell alone is pretty potent, lol. Also the Ruth/fake signature is the same used in a 1931 exhibit. Thats about all I could come up with.

In the 1920s-30s there were lots of movie star faux signed photos like these-- either commercially issued or as 'fan photos' by the movie studios and intended to be given to fans. Though most were smaller than these. Don't know that that's what these are, though both folks had movie associations. But they definitely were some form of premium or commercial issue.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll just chalk it up as something new that hasn't been seen before. Always cool to find new things. Also I think the person who's name is on the back must have collected and cataloged these in some sort of way or cataloged his collection as they have numbers written on them.
