Another glitch in the ebay authentication program
I sold a really strong 1952 Star Cal Decal Mays/Irvin on ebay. I ship it to the authenticator address. A couple of days later, ebay (PSA) sends a really poorly worded and confusing note claiming that since it was listed in the wrong category, it's not eligible for the authentication program. They send the item to the buyer with a disclaimer that it was not authenticated.
Hello? I listed it as ... wait for it .. a baseball card. Apparently on some oversize issues, ebay (PSA) thinks they are not baseball cards and therefore not eligible to be authenticated. This has happened to people before I have learned.
So of course, my buyer is thoroughly confused, and thinks ebay (PSA) has determined the item is not authentic. He started a return. Hopefully I was able to explain this to him and once he inspects the item he will see that it's fine, but I am still at risk of losing a sale because of this idiocy. The irony is that if I sent it directly to PSA, they would put it in an AUTH slab LOL.
