I'm getting ready to retire later this year and have begun to sell off portions of some of my collections. I can't remember a time when I didn't collect sports autographs, but I also collected signed novels and other non-sports books for about a 10 year period from about 1995 to 2005. Besides going to meet several of the authors at public signings, I purchacse a number of books written by authors who were deceased. As a result, I have a wide variety of signed books that I'm offering for sale.
I am composing a list the books, but I want to find out if there is any interest among the members of the board who might want to identify an author of interest to them. There are no Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Steinbeck, etc., in the group, but writers like Truman Capote, John Updike, Tennessee Williams, Ezra Pound, Richard Wright, etc., are in the collection and for sale. Some of the books being offered sell for a $1,000 or more. Some of them are Advance Reading Copies, proofs that were provided to reviewers prior to the official first edition of the book being released. All will be priced on the basis of what I have in them and their current value, but all prices will be negotiable as well.
I bought them years ago and can offer very fair prices for anyone that might be interested. I'm not a big Science Fiction fan, so there isn't much from that genre (although there is a signed reprint edition of The Martian Chronicles from Bradbury), but prize winners from the US and Britain are present. If you've got a favorite author who was writing during the time period I collected, shoot me an email at
raynovak52@gmail.com, and I can let you know what I've got.
