It is interesting that they initially sold for $56.55 and the seller (Ebay seller Azcubfan130) re-listed it.
This is the initial listing that sold. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Los-Angeles-...p2047675.l2557 Then the seller re-listed it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Los-Angeles-.../321880837231? |

I stand corrected.....I will not be bidding. I still feel that the Kershaw/Koufax may be real but there are too many "stories" with this guy. I also noted one of his feedbacks was a Neg and it said the guy was the rudest dealer he had ever encountered. Thanks for the link to the story about him, Mike

No comment on these autographs but you are SOOOOO wrong in that statement. Forgers LOVE charity auctions and those auctions are POLLUTED by forgeries.

Always look at the SIGNATURES. Do not even THINK about the "COAs", "Holograms", "Long descriptions", "Charity sap story", "Feedback", "Proof Photos", it's all about the SIGNATURES. These are both horrendous forgeries from a known eBay scammer. |

#1, Kershaw's signature is really simple to forge. So, even though it looks like his, I think any person can copy his signature. The Koufax looks close, but I'm always skeptical when the seller has photos that supposedly prove he/she got it in person, but it really just shows the player posing next to somebody (supposedly the seller) or shows him signing an item in person. But unless the photo shows the player signing that EXACT same item the seller is saying was signed in person, I can't buy the story.
I also saw this auction this past weekend and I didn't bid because it was too good to be true. If there was a verifiable way to prove these two Dodger aces signed this pic, it would easily go over $500. But since it didn't even come close to market, that shows you that the other collectors saw something fishy as well (not always the best gauge, of course, but sometimes others know better). In short, I wouldn't buy Kershaw's signature unless it had some reputable holo/cert like Steiner, Online Authentics, MLB or came issued with a card company because his signature is way too easy to forge...just like Mike Trout's. No opinion on the Koufax but the Kershaw is definitely no good.

The n in Sandy is suspicious (good ones look more like a U than an N) as is the f in Koufax. The S in Sandy is also more typical of an earlier signature but all in all not a bad job at doing Koufax. I'd give him a B+
I own 100+ Koufax (probably a few are fake) from all stages of his career- many IP from his days at Albuquerque, one from last year spring training, some from the 1960's when I was a kid. There are some good forgeries out there for sure Also own 10+ Koufax he did at a charity event in Surprise AZ (signed all of them in front of me) but all mine were from that one moment in time so haven't kept up. |
