So I recently picked up the following RPPC of a ballplayer I recognized as being from the 1908 Connellsville team due to the same uniform and background as the somewhat famous Roy Ellam PC that was found years back from his 1908 Connellsville days that was eventually doctored to make into his T206 Southern League image. Obviously it is a longshot but anybody have an idea as far as an id goes (most of the team did NOT make it to the majors so not sure how likely it is to figure it out)...
Postcard I picked up: ![]() Here is the Ellam (Courtesy of T206 Resource): ![]() Here is the 1908 Roster: http://www.baseball-reference.com/mi...gi?id=801b3ee4 Not really expecting someone to id the guy but thought it would be fun to try to figure it all out.

Huck Wallace is the only Lefthanded batter listed as such--many are unknown as to which way they hit.

Going to be tough to match but he does somewhat resemble #3 to me (at least at first glance). Thanks for the photo of the team, that was more than I was expecting.

This is a photo of Elmer Jacobson in 1911 for the Hannibal, Mo. team. I think it's Elmer Jacobson that played on 1908 Scottdale Millers/Grafton Wanderers in the same league as Connellville.
a Jacobson did play on July 14 for Connellville. Last edited by Dto7; 04-26-2015 at 12:07 AM. |

Jacobson was released by Connellsville on July 17, 1908. Here he played for Grafton. So The opening photo is Elmer Jacobson.

I'm actually pretty blown away with the help on this piece, great job guys. That last photo of Jacobson with the Hannibal Cannibals looks just like him so I think the id of Elmer Jacobson is accurate. (pretty awesome team name BTW). Again, thanks for the leg-work on the id!
