Default WTB / WTTF 1967 Topps Seaver #581

Does anyone have a 67 Topps Tom Seaver RC #581 that they are selling or trading? I am looking for an ungraded one from low to mid grade. I am down to the final 6 cards to complete my 67 set, of course this is the biggest card I need from the remaining.

If anyone has one please PM me or email me pics at NMack03@yahoo.com

Thanks for looking,
Nate Mack

Hi Nate,

I wanted to wish you luck in locating this card.. It is not impossible, but indeed a toughie! This was the last card I got to complete the 1967 Topps set. It is also the last card I got to complete the decade (1960s). The 1967 Topps set us a real beauty and when finished, quite an accomplishment!

Default 67t

Back when I was starting collecting again my first purchase was a starter lot of 66 Topps HOFers. It had me thinking, why don't I work on this set! I was ignorantly unaware that the high numbers were so tough. So after a few years, I completed the 66 set, it was a while before I thought about starting 67 mainly due to the tough high numbers. So being this close is awesome, but I also know that it could take a long time to find a Seaver RC that doesn't break my modest collecting budget.

I was lucky enough in some of those 66 high numbers. I traded for #544, picked up a Grant Jackson in EX+ for $20 at a big show, and made trades for another dozen of the SPs.

The 67 set has been no different. I made a trade for the Brooks Robinson. Picked up a pair of Carew RCs from a NET54 member. Traded for a bunch of the SPs and bought some on the cheap at local shows when I have come across them.

I am looking forward to finishing the 67 set one of these days, but luckily I have enough patience (and other sets that I am working on) to let it come to me one of these days... Hope that day is in the near future!

Thanks,
Nate

I have been told that I have built my collection on scotch tape and band aids. The 1966, 1967 high numbers are indeed a challenge. But one worth conquering. Patience is indeed the key to finishing any set. You have the proper mindset and you will be successful. Once again, the best of luck in your quest!
