1963 Johnny Edwards Cincinnati Reds Road Uniform
Offered for trade or consideration for Cincinnati Reds Crosley Field era related items (1934-1970). 1963 was a very good year for Edwards in that it was first Gold Glove season (1963 & 1964) and his first All Star Game selection (1963-1965). 1963 was the last year of this style, as starting in 1964, the Reds went to smaller numbers on the back in order to accommodate the adding of player names below the numbers.
For trivia fans out there, Edwards was also behind the plate for the Reds in St. Louis for Musial's final at bat on 29 September, 1963. This was a single to right that went past the reach of Reds rookie second baseman, Pete Rose. Dave Grob DaveGrob1@aol.com
