FS: Hank Aaron Pre-Rookie Team Signed Winter League Ball 1953 SOLD
For sale is one of the earliest Hank Aaron signatures known to exist. Up until the 1953 Winter League season, Aaron had been an infielder. That winter, Mickey Owen moved Aaron to the outfield and taught him how to hit to all fields.
This signed ball hails from that very team. It was signed several months before Aaron reported to Spring Training 1954, where he would take over for an injured Bobby Thomson and the rest would be history. Signatures on the ball are very bold.
