I hope that all the GMs, Managers, Coaches, and Players of all the teams that did not make it to the series take serious note on the way the Giants and Royals continue to move up runners and produce runs even without benefit of a hit much less a homerun.
Witnessing these offenses work makes me dread next seasons return to the all-or-nothing offenses of almost every other team. It is so neat to see so many productive outs. I yearn for a time when Baseball no longer accepts a heavy load of strikeouts as a means to an end.

Let's be real. The producing of runs without the benefit of a home run wasn't what won this World Series for San Francisco. San Francisco scored 30 runs in 7 games, which is a little over 4 runs a game. That's not bad, actually. But the Giants not named Madison Bumgarner gave up 26 earned runs in 40 innings. And if they'd had any other pitcher, you can be sure they'd have lost.
Madison Bumgarner won this World Series. He was unhittable.

Turley's 1958 World Series performance: 2 wins sandwiched around 1 save within 3 days, igniting his Yankees to come back and win the Series against the Braves after being down 3 games to 1.
