![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I picked this up on eBay a week ago...hasn't arrived yet...Been doing some research...Mostly I prefer American things but occasionally I dive into a Euro piece like this...The engraving of the crossed racquets had me...then later I started looking into the opponents...both went to Christ Church College at Oxford...both well to do...The big looming question for me is what was it's purpose???...without the winner of the match stipulated I hesitate to call it a trophy...though it may have been... I had to step up more than I wanted to pay... but being it's the best looking tankard I've come across and so early I went for it....had 22 bids...See it featured at the top of my home page for more on it
