Picked this up tonight on eBay for a whopping $5.51 with free shipping...two bidders...The metal stickpin is dis-attached but comes with it, which should be easy to reattach...I didn't know they used cheerleaders for baseball...The H Book Of Harvard Athletics gives a vivid account of a tragedy experienced by the Harvard team on the way to the second game with Yale for 1898...which they were understandably unnerved by and lost...They must have been pretty shook as they never even scored one run losing 0 to 7...

Gary, Man that is one classic ribbon...I mostly collect bigger things like posters, but that's impressive...The red white and blue patriotic letters are fabulous!...Looks c1880 from the pillbox cap and strapped shoe...or at least post civil war...
![]() http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morrisania,_Bronx Now for us westerners...I had to look up Morrisania....had no idea if it was in Missouri or Kansas or whatever...Makes perfect sense it was/is a section of the Bronx since New York City was really the beginning of baseball starting in the 40's when the merchants and bankers played after work...

The Unions disbanded in 1873. I've always placed this silk earlier than that. The pillbox cap observation by Carlton is interesting. Food for thought.
