FS-New Haven Telephone Belles Gold Star Athlete Trophy Circa 1958
Very Cool Trophy that was awareded to Adele (Jet) Weted for outstanding achievements in leader her team to 10 city champ titles (in what I believe to be basketball) and 4 State titles in Softball...
Found this article including a small photo of Adele: http://news.google.com/newspapers?ni...g=5178,5493169 Apparently the Belles (sponsored and staffed by southern new england telephone employees) were a fixture in New Haven and dominated in both Basketball and softball Adele was also elected into the Branford sports hall of fame... (amazing athlete) http://branfordsportshalloffame.com/weteda.htm Trophy is about 9"x6.75", in impeccable shape just some light scratching on the base... Looking for $45 shipped on this beauty (its pretty heavy)
