Default N300/Mayo Cut plug Questions here??

Hey guys not big into the pre 19th century stuff but i absolutely love the mayo cut plug cards. I know that there is only 40 something odd cards in this set and figure maybe be a really nice set to try and build. I have a few questions.

1.How difficult are we talking to do the set
2.What cards are rarest
3.Whats the avg cost per card in say A-2 grade.

I would really appreciate it any help. Thanks

Posted here instead of B/S/T section

There are 48 to the set..

There are no significant rarities, but the Anson and Delahanty cards can be pricey. You could pick up a low grade common for under $200 if you waited for a no reserve auction. The cards are harder to find in higher grade and the prices go up quite a bit above a grade of 3. The biggest obstacle to putting a set together would be the cost.

I don't own any and know little/nothing about the set, but I always thought the Hugh Duffy card was a pretty baseball card.

I have a complete "collector-grade" set, completed between 2000-2004. Condition is the tough part and prices vary widely as a result, as the previous posters have said. But it is a small fraction of the size of N172 or T206, and with no impossible cards. So it is still do-able.

Bruce - great set.

I am a few cards short and want to do some upgrades.

Grading will also be all over the place.

Here's my PSA 3 Ryan with a crease that goes to the back:

Talk to Don of Don's Cards, he bought a lot a few years ago and not sure where he is selling them off. He is a Net54 member - never had any problem with any transaction.

Default N300

Nice set Bruce.

Actually Don H. was at the National. He indicated he had most of the cards for sale and included HOF'ers and some commons. I am not sure how many he sold.

Such a tough condition sensitive set. I have seen most of the cards for sale at one time or another and at a base set of 48 cards, not unreasonable to complete. Good luck
