They have nice cards in that set and only 6 to collect!!! I guess once you go 19th century there is no turning back!!! ![]() http://www.ebay.ca/itm/230951752777?...84.m1497.l2649 I must have over paid but I figure they are hard to come by so jumped at my chance. Guess I will be collecting 1887 Old Judge, 1888 N29's and T-206. That will keep me busy the rest of my life....that feels really good!!! Last edited by Zone91; 03-24-2013 at 10:47 AM. |

That's great...you know there is a march pick ups thread which is where things like this should be placed...it's kinda self serving to start your own thread evrytime u buy a card?! Just my opinion!

Very very nice!!! Love the art work!!! Is it possible to put the set together all 6 cards or is it a hard thing to do? Do they come up for sale often or very rarely? Last edited by Zone91; 03-24-2013 at 11:03 AM. |

if you are referring to n43's...they r tough! You see Ewings because they are so high buck...but the rest are definitely challenging...I have 2...and am kinda trying for the set...it will take a while!!!

Nice if you have any pictures please post!! And how about the 1888 N29 Allen & Ginter baseball cards are they hard to complete as a 6 card set? Do they come up often or rarely as well? |

n28/n29 are relatively common 19th c cards...n29 a little tougher than n28. Additionally they are thick and sturdy and can be found in high grade...also book/poster cutouts can be found and can be had cheaply! If you're just looking to complete n29 baseball...it will be a small challenge!!!! Good luck if you decide to pursue it!

It looks like most if not all n29 baseball are available on ebay right now?! Last edited by ullmandds; 03-24-2013 at 11:12 AM. |

Is it just me or all cards from the 1800's seem to cost much more than the price guides have them priced? Whit these cards do price guides simply fly out the window and are irrelevant? Last edited by Zone91; 03-24-2013 at 11:15 AM. |

with experience and research you'll find that price guides are useless for determining current values...additionally ebay is chock full of expensive bin's posted by optimistic fishermen!

Very very nice cards!!! Thanks for sharing!!! I guess living in Canada I only trust Ebay for now since I have no established dealer in the U.S and do not want to take the risk of losing my money. |

One way to gauge a rough estimate of how many cards may exist is to look at the population reports on sgccard.com and psacard.com For example, PSA reports that they have graded 6 N43 Fogartys. To me that means the card would not have a known population of more than 50 in existence, probably much less. |

Great pick up. N28s, N29s, and N43s are some of the most attractive baseball card sets imho.

The Beer and Whiskey League book is a great read... you'll learn to appreciate the OJs and A&G cards a bit more after reading that book.

I will turn the baseball game on and open the window and listen to the game from my balcony outside and read my book at the same time with a BIG glass of ice tea!!! Last edited by Zone91; 03-24-2013 at 09:14 PM. |
