Agree 100%... I can't even think of a LEGITAMITE reason behind it... The "he was barred from baseball" shouldn't mean he is barred from 2013 topps...

I buy modern boxes every now and then, (actually just grabbed 3 about a week ago)... I will make sure to avoid topps in the same way they avoid Pete Rose, UD - you have my business.

Default Pete Rose - Trading Cards

The explanation is this:

Topps is a licensed MLB product and Rose was banned from MLB, so he must not be recognized on any MLB licensed products / trading cards or anything else that is an official MLB product...it wasn't a Topps decision, but MLB decision.

Rose is allowed to appear on any trading card etc that does not have an MLB license.

I am from Cincinnati and a big Rose fan too...he deserves to go in the Hall!

Hank

If this is the case, then I have no problem with Topps following the letter of the law and leaving Pete out.

Positively Orwellian; Pete's been un-personed!

This doesn't really surprise me in the least. Pete can't catch a break anywhere. It is true about Pete being a real down to earth guy, he's certainly a regular out here in Vegas doing signings on the strip.

Default not right

interesting that in todays society where values for the most part are out the door, that baseball is still keeping the likes of Joe Jackson, and Pete Rose out of the HOF and baseball recognition.
We forgive people who have done much worse compared to these two men. I appreciate the fact that baseball has values and is trying its best to punish cheaters.
I feel that the time has come for Mr. Rose and Mr. Jackson to get to the promised land and be recognized by baseball and the commisioner.
I an just a fan of the game neither a Rose or Jackson fan per say, but i know when enough is enough.
Happy Valentines
