Good evening all and Happy Holidays.
As a rare baseball card and memorabilia collector for the better part of 35 years, it seems that almost every year is characterized by a "major find." Over the past 5 years alone there have been major finds of Old Judge Cabinets, Allen and Ginters, T-4 Obaks, T-206 rare backs, early Topps and Bowmans, countless photos, and, of course, Heritage's Black Swamp Find As a type collector, it is often risky to purchase an ultra high grade early type card because there is always the potential for a major find. Our question is (1) Predict (seriously) what card or memorabilia set will be represented in a major find in 2013 (2) Which dealer or auction house will auction the find (3) What pre 1948 find would you most enjoy: Our choices High grade Delongs Dealer -Lifson Fantasy - Kalamazoo Bats and Kalamazoo Bat Cabinets (not from Museums) If you are looking to sell or trade high grade cards, especially from the Black Swamp find, please write us Best, Bruce Dorskind America's Toughest Want List bdorskind@dorskindgroup.com |

Don't know what the next find will be, but as soon as I read (2) REA popped into my head.
And as far as a fantasy find, let's go with a kettle full of Voskamp's that pours a few examples each of Robinson and Mensor into the known population. Regards, Richard. |

Bruce.
I like your answers here. I definitely agree REA should auction the next big find. Let's not forget about the Pirate set sold a few years ago, the Skydash find that started right here on our board, and the BVG T206 find that netted a new Wagner. I really like the Delong set and would love to see a nice high grade original collector find of these. But my favorite set to have a find of would be, like you said, some K Bats. Nice thread. Best, AndyH .
