Saw this story on the AP wire. Is there any consensus about RR auctions? Reputable company or not?
Founder's John Hancocks on the auction block APNewsNow. %reldate(2012-11-14T11:45:57 PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A collection of signatures from the country's Founding Fathers is heading to the auction block. The 56 signatures are from a collection that had been housed in a Philadelphia building being torn down to make way for a new museum focusing on the American Revolution. The documents were on display Tuesday in the city's Old City neighborhood. RR Auctions is handling the Dec. 15 sale. Auction officials tell KYW-AM (http://cbsloc.al/QcWqkJ ) the collection is estimated to bring in $1 million or more because some of the signatures are rare. The new museum is expected to open in 2016. ——— Information from: KYW-AM, http://www.kyw1060.com |
