The owner says it was trimmed but that its authentic. Any help would be greatly appreciated. He is asking $1000 but I could get him down. If its authentic, what would it be worth approximately? Thank you!

Don't know if it is a genuine card from 1933 or not. If it is, it has been trimmed.

it may be real, but even if it is, if he is asking $1000 I don't see you being able to get it down to a reasonable price. I would think $200 would be a handsome price to pay for one that trimmed..

Agreed, I was thinking 200-300 when I first saw it.

When its trimmed to the extent that text on the reverse cannot be read I think you have to seriously question the value of the card to anyone, especially when it is not super rare or scarce. 1k is def. way too much in my opinion.

I paid only around $750 for a PSA 1 that was not trimmed and decent look to it, I was also thinking around. $150-$300

taking a risk on a card thats not graded, and one that is trimmed i wouldnt spend $500. Looks like 300 to me, i would spend. Though, with ruth cards I always prefer to buy them graded already.

Looks like if you do the math, the card is missing about 10% of its cardboard. Using my newly created, completely un-scientific, inverted trim percentage formula, I would pay 10% of the going rate.

While that is a noble attempt I have designed my own personal valuation methodology which I prefer and has stood the test of time: trimmed card value = untrimmed card value * zero. |

Different card but same series and value, usually. Most collectors would rather have a nice looking 1 than the trimmed picture shown....
