Happy July 4th.
With the half of the season approaching, does anyone have second thoughts of Derek Jeter really making a shot at Pete Rose's record in the upcoming years? enjoy the 4th. john |

I think passing Stan Musial is still a reasonable goal, but that's it. Aaron is a long shot, Cobb and Rose are untouchable.

If he plays 6 more years and averages 150 hits per year, he will be close.
Not probable, but possible. |

I thought he had no shot then. I think he has now shot now. 3500+ is possible but beyond that will require he become a player/manager and then continue to run himself out there as the worst first baseman/DH in the league. I don't see him wanting to go that route. Rose only stuck it out because of his giant ego.

I think he will finish this year just shy of 3300 hits. At 38 years old, I don't see him playing more than 3 more years or so. Assuming 150 hits per year, I think he will be in the mid 3700s with a shot at Aaron.
