I was eager to read about an enigmatic pre-war baseball character such as Ty Cobb so I rushed to purchase Stump's book on Saturday and finished reading it today.
After I finish reading a book, I like to go online and check out different critics' opinions and angles I may have missed. As soon as I google "Al Stump Ty Cobb", I get back the words: fraud, felon, forger, and con man. Turns out Mr. Stump was a shady character who liked to fabricate stories and sell fake memorabilia. I just wasted my time reading this quasi-fictional bio. Thanks, Al, you crook. Last edited by SetBuilder; 07-02-2012 at 11:12 AM. |
