I was looking through an old box of my collectibles from '86 and found my first T206 checklist and prices paid. I was 10 years old and worked in a card shop every Saturday. Here are prices on a few:
Griffith portrait/sc - vg $25 *notation that this was difficult card to find "rare" haha Johnson portrait/pd - vgex $125 *Gave this card up for a '56 Clemente Young glove/sov - gd $75 Tinker hand knee/om - $20 Evers portrait/pd - $30 Mathewson/sc - pr $75 Sweeney - $2 Hallman/pd - vg $7.50 Rhoades arm/sc - gd $10 Purchased small lot of commons at flea market (7 cards). - pr-vg $20 Traded Mattingly Topps RC for a M Brown portrait Traded Clemmons Fleer RC for Sandburg, Boggs and Dubuc Avg price paid for commons was $15 Enjoy Eric

On vacation in Hawaii and just got back from a Sat market full of junk, one guy had some 80/90s cards and mentioned he had stacks of tobacco baseball cards, didn't bring them because they aren't worth hauling the box!!! I dream of finds like that.

Somewhere at my parents house is a box of index cards which my brother and I kept all our T card purchase records on back in the late 80's and early 90's. We bought dozens of T206's from a guy in Florida for betwen $5-$12 after reading an ad in SCD I believe.

I had the Griffith until last year when I again "got out" of collecting and sold off my collection. I'm back on the wagon and working on the Cubs for the gazillionth time. All I know is I am always willing to trade Donnie Baseball for Three Finger............any takers?
