Default Wanted: Mis-cut cards

Hi everyone,

I am looking for miscut cards. I have been collecting these, trying to get three different for each number. I don't want just "off-center", but with part of another card showing, preferably on the front (but even on the back), and the more of that "other" card showing, the better! Any year, any sport, any non-sport, any condition works fine. My eventual goal is to get 3 different cards for each number. The smallest card number I currently have is #1, and the largest #767. If you have a card where the number is partially cut off, that is fine for me. If there are 2 numbers on the back, or none at all, those are also fine. Still want any and all numbers!

Mostly the cards I have are 60s and 70s baseball commons. I don’t have many newer cards, probably because better production practices have meant fewer printing screwups. But I would enjoy getting any of these for variety. I have mostly baseball, so would love getting other sports or non-sport. I am definitely not looking for stars or key cards or cards with any traditional value, but just for the degree and variety of mis-cutness. Basically, the cards that work for me would be virtually worthless to a dealer or investor, and would only work, at best, as temporary fillers even for a collector.

I would love to get more of these mc cards, and would be willing to trade something for them. However, since they have very little value, I am not willing to trade too much. I am just doing this for the fun of it and to satisfy my curiosity. Eventually it may provide an amusing compilation and possibly be helpful for those investigating early card printing techniques that could be assisted by knowing which cards were printed next to which. You can find my webpage of tradable material at

https://sites.google.com/site/richar...trade-material

and my main page at

Looking forward to hearing from you and thanks for any help!

Hi Cameron,

Thanks for replying to my post.

I did get your personal email and followed the link to the photo.

I can see that the card is a mc, though somewhat minor with a small part of another card at the bottom and side. Still a nice example.

I looked the card up in my Standard catalog and it lists for 5 cents in NM/M condition.

As a mc, maybe it would be worth 1 cent or so.

I'd be happy to pay you for the card, though I was hoping to be able to deal for more than a single UV card.

I realize now I should have stated more clearly in my post that postage could be a concern.

Tell you what, if you are good enough to pay the postage to send it to me, I will pay postage to send you a nickel or an equivalent nice shape NMish UV card or two you can pick from my tradables list.

Please disregard the email I sent a bit ago to your personal address, as this is my more recent thought, and use this response instead.

All the best,

Richard D

Dear Richard,
I would be more than happy to pay for postage, however I would like to hold on to the card for a bit as I search my collection for more miscut cards that I know I have buried somewhere.
Once I find these, I will be more than happy to deal with you, and I think that it would work best for the both of us if I can find a few more miscuts anyways. If you feel otherwise please let me know.
I will try to keep you updated with the miscuts that I find. Thanks for your time.
With best regards,
Cameron W.C.P.

Default 1978 Topps Football Blank Backs

Not sure if you're interested, but I have around twenty 1978 Topps football blank backs I would be willing to sell. Mostly commons, some stars and HOF'ers like Walter Payton and Fred Biletnikoff.

Default miscut cards

Richard,
I have about 100+ football cards from 1971 and 1973 (more from 73) that are miscut. I scanned a group from each year. They include stars and commons and are in varying degrees of miscuts. I am haing trouble uploading them on this system. I will email them directly to you.
Let me know if these have interest. My email is aleo821@aol.com.
Thanks
Jay
