Anyone want to stop this ebay sale - Fake superbowl I ring

In a few hours an ebay auction will finish and a fake superbowl I ring will sell for thousands of dollars.

the seller claims the ring is real.

I have tried in the past to stop these auctions by:

1) alerting ebay

2) putting a similar auction on ebay, alerting readers that the other auction item is bogus and explaining why. as the auction with the bogus item ends, I pull my auction and state that the item is no longer available for sale. I guess this is dishonest, but it is intended to help the collecting community avoid getting ripped off.

Alerting ebay has never worked, I seem to have no pull with ebay or perhaps I do it wrong.

I have a picture of the ring at auction and a real superbowl I player's ring. The ring on the right is a real ring, the ring on the left is from the ebay auction.

A superbowl I ring is 40 grams of gold, and 14K gold. the ring in question is 10K and more more importantly, the ring is 34 grams. That's about 15% lighter and 15% is often lost when a real ring is used to crate a wax mold to make a copy.

If anyone would like to get involved and alert ebay I would welcome the help. also, this ring has a blank nameplate where a player's name would go.

If the reserve is not hit, the seller claims the ring will go to auction. If it does I will alert the auction house about these issues and concerns.

Amazing how often there is a major typo when an expensive item like this is ebay'd.
