David,
Great story, thanks. Alas, you are correct. It was a great party! Lovely Day... |

Would you rather have the frankenwagner or the trimmed shellacked one. I'm going frankenwagner.

Because my local espn radio affiliate just mentioned it in their Sportscenter update.

I don't think the name was mispelled Pittsburg. I think that was intentional!
Wasn't there a big controversy at that time concerning how the city was named??? Did the Pirates use Pittsburg or Pittsburgh at that time? Last edited by martyogelvie; 10-27-2010 at 01:32 PM. |

I guess I don't have to worry about this dilemma unless I win the lottery, but if I actually had the money to afford that card I don't think I'd want a shellacked, trimmed one either.

What is the frankenwagner? Taped back together?

When they opened the box, they found the card, with a typewritten note: "Although damaged, the value of this baseball card should increase exponentially throughout the 21st century!"
Was this not like a note in the shellacked Wagners safe? Wonder if they bought the 2 cards from the same guy ![]() |
