Working on a small one right now with another net54-er.
Even traded with a Net54 non-sport guy for a T206 last week. |

I think it's easier with cards than memorabilia.
It's also easier when neither party tries to squeeze every last dollar in value out of the other person. |

The last trade I made was with Clint H. a few years ago. It's not often that trade opportunities even arise in the memorabilia world.

A few weeks ago.
I try to trade as much as I can but since I collect rather, er, esoteric things (aka obscure crap), it isn't easy.

I trade items all the time. I specifically collect Zeenut cards amongst other things and have found that collectors of Zeenut cards are especially open to trades (for whatever reason).

I guess maybe the better question: why are people more apt to trade baseball cards as opposed to memorabilia?

Gang,
somebody mentions the words " trade baseball cards" and Im right there. Been collecting and trading for many many years. I love working card swaps..especially the blockbusters..over the years Ive traded 50s60s complete sets, major high value star cards,etc...I still have tons of desired cards including - 30s Goudey HOFers, 30s40s Play Ball HOFers, 50s stuff like - 5T Clemente,55T Koufax,53T Mays,53T Mantle,57T B.Robby,53 B col Musial, loads of 60s superstar cards, complete sets, oddball stuff..I dont mind using any price guide..as long as cards are graded and valued properly. have 100s of trader references if nec Im a lesser cond collector, prefer to trade and get VG stuff. It's easier to find a like minded collector when it comes to baseball cards..plus cards for the most part are more plentiful than memorabilia items. I collect Lincoln baseball memorabilia...I am not likely to have what you're looking for and you are not likely to have what I am looking for.

that "trading" among baseball card collectors has been a part of the hobby since it's very beginnings. Trading (and for some, "flipping") baseball cards has always been an integral part of how a collector enjoys his or her collection, ever since we were kids. Many card manufacturers encouraged the trading of cards with your friends. Among memorabilia collectors, however, trading may not be as prevalent because a collector can become more attached to a piece of memorabilia. As much as I love cards, they are pieces of cardboard. A game-worn jersey or game-used bat, however, can carry more significance with a collector -- it can often be a one of a kind item or carry historical importance, and will be less likely to be traded or sold. |

I'm in the process of wrapping up a nice trade with a fellow member as we speak. Trading is one of the finer aspects of the hobby in my opinion!
