June Pick up thread
Perhaps because of the "off condition" I got this IMO for a good price. Scarce Unscored. 1939 RED SOX vs Yale program at Yale. w Ted Williams, batting 6th in RF. just three days before his ML debut vs Yankees. Foxx and Cronin and Doerr also played, and I found a detailed article on the game on the Yale website too.
IMO very cool Teddy B and Red Sox item. |

Mark,
Were you able to find a vintage frame, or is that a newer one? Looks nice. |

Sorry not pre-war, but a holy-grail item for me.
Arrived at work today and on the desk in my office was a package waiting for me. I have been waiting (impatiently) for about 15 years to add this Clemente item to my collection. I first saw one at the Ft. Washington show in about 1995 and passed on it at the time. I have regretted it ever since, have attempted to win some that have been on e-bay in the last year or so but came up short. This last time I saw one, I took the plunge. A couple of other HOF'ers came along for the ride.... 1968 Topps Plak Panel: Yastrzemski-Killebrew-Clemente |

Mark. What ever you had to give up in order to acquire this spectacular piece, was well worth it! Easily one of the best display pieces that I have ever seen. Best, Jimmy

Good style-nice! What a neat story and an extremely cool thing to do- turning Bud's glove over to the museum. I think you made exactly the right choice! |

You did incredibly well yourself, with the Movie Viewer. Those graphics on the Box are incredible with the iconic image of Cobb. What a great acquisition, in amazingly clean condition. Must be in "never played with" condition, and has to be one of the best to exist. Congrats! |

I posted this piece on the card side but I wanted to post it here too. Absolutely love this piece. It is a 1903 Cabinet of Harry Howell while he was part of the first ever New York Yankees team.

Great pickups guys, beautiful bats Matt.
Here are a couple of my recent pickups. First is an 1884 Wright and Ditson paper catalog pamphlet (4 pages total including the front) It has the Union Association Ball on the front which I believe only existed in 1884. Next I picked up this fairly early bat. It has a flat end and handle, and has more of a straight taper. Am I correct dating this bat to the 1870s. I am pretty much a bat novice, so please correct me if I am wrong. |

Damn Matt. Those are some really sweet bats you got there. What does the marking "40 K" represent?

Jimmy, that's a great 1938 Gehrig photo! Makes me a bit sad though. He had just come off another great year and had no way of knowing that within a year he'd be diagnosed with ALS and pass away within 3 years. Even as his body was failing him, he still managed to hit .295 and knock in 114 runs in 1938. The man truly was the Iron Horse.

Another Catcher's Mask
Since I'm rarely finding any cards to add to my collection, I have started to add some more memorabilia items to my collection. Anyone have any catcher figurals for sale?
Thanks, Patrick |

Chest Protectors
Hi Perez Fan,
Thanks for the response. Before I got into card collecting, I had several of the early inflatable chest protectors. They are cool items, but tough to display because of their size. Thanks, Patrick |
