Holy sh....... Wow, that's amazing. I own one sealed '67 cello that I'm tempted to open. I don't think I could resist the lure of an entire box!

If I was a 1%er I'd undoubtedly spend a good chunk of change on unopened materials and have a heck of a pack rip.

I'd love to rip a bunch of 71's in baseball, as they were the first packs I opened. I pulled a Steve Carlton, and immediately took scissors to it, to make it fit the picture section in my wallet.
In football it was 72's, in a small town called Kewanee, Illinois at a Ben Franklin dime store. I got a Johnny Unitas, to the unending envy of my friend Dan who was also buying packs. |

I find this to be an amazing price. If you do the math, you end up paying $45 per card or about $542 per pack of 12 cards. Certainly a pretty steep price to bring you back to your childhood days.

I have mixed thoughts about the price. 48 packs x 12 cards each = 576 series 1 cards. Seems like a lot of money at 45 dollars a card. Quality control is all over the place for this era, many are off center.
Some of the individual cello packs are highly desirable like card #1 the Champs, F Robby and Ford on top. Others are just typical 67 cello packs and are only worth the going rate for a series 1 cello. I think the real value is the complete box filled with cellos. If you start breaking up the cards or packs, I think the value is not there. But left intact you have a very rare item. Last edited by tigers6884; 01-27-2012 at 04:22 PM. |

Apparently, to some, the price of buying back childhood is no obstacle.
