Original early 1900s about 9x12 inches gelatin silver imperial cabinet card photograph of Carl Sandburg, autographed/hand signed by Sandburg in black fountain pen on the bottom front mount. The signature is darker than appears in these pics. The bottom front right has a Chicago photography studio embossment. The right and top edge are neatly trimmed, and the mount has some wear including a crease. The photographic image, showing him signing at a public book signing, is sharp and clean with light silvering. Beyond the autograph, the photograph itself is rare and desirable.
