If you had to pick one single card that you currently own as the "cornerstone" of your collection what would it be? Since I just recently started buying again this one will have to do for mine: |

Seems like there was thread with almost the same title recently. Anyway, great question. For me, it is an M-101-4 or 5 Ruth Rookie card with the E-107 Cy Young lingering closely behind. |

Cornerstone for me?....It's probably a toss up with several but, as a strictly "type" collector, it's most likely the T231. No surprise there. Good question.... regards |

Tough call, but one of my favorites would be my black mount N173 of Hardy Richardson. It looks nearly as good as the day it was produced (SGC84). The gold on black contrast is striking. |

I would like to say my e121 babe Ruth series of 120 holding bird but in reality it is the e121 series of 80 Elmer Miller card. The Ruth is trimmed is probably the reason for the comment. |

for me it would be definatley be my D381 Near set 96/103 diff. players highlighted by the Mathewson card. My Wagner is a little more off-condition and i don't have the Cobb, so the Mathewson is my favorite. |

No real cornerstone - there are lots of types that I like. However, here are a couple of worthy candidates: E223 G & B Van Haltran or the E221 Bishop & Co. |

My M116 Wagner. The T206 portrait image has been with me since I started collecting as a kid, looking out from the cover of price guides and so forth, and this is as close as I'm going to get. Beautiful card that makes me happy every time I pull it out. |

I have a group of cards that were left to me when my Dad passed. These were, almost exclusively, dated to the years 1932-1933. He was the oldest son and had dropped out of high school in 1932, at the age of 16, to help support his Mom, Dad, brothers and sister during the height of the depression. Working gave him a little money of his own and, being a kid, he chose to spend some on cards. |

I guess it would have to be my '33 Goudey Ruth. When I first went to look at this gentleman's cards, I expected Topps cards from the '50's. I was floored when I saw the Goudey's, didn't really know anything about them but there were around 140 from '33 along with some other issues of the same time period. It was a few years later when he passed away that his son sold them to me. That's when the vintage bug bit me!! |
