I am new to the "vintage" collector seen as I used to only collected cards from the 1950's (spent most of my high school and college years working on a signed 1957 set which I am getting close to finishing). I love the few T206 cards but trying to complete a set might be too much of a challenge for me but was thinking about trying for a M116. I wanted to get people's thoughts on that particular set. Everyone seems to talk about T206 but no one really talks about this set. Does anyone on the board collect them? Anyone completed a set? |

This is a very difficult set with many shortprinted cards, and a couple (Bates Cincinnati, Seymour Baltimore) where only 1 or a couple examples are known to exist. You should see the article by Tim Newcomb in an upcoming issue of Old Cardboard magazine. |

It would be realistic to put together a comprehensive group, say about 200, but you will reach a wall at some point. Completing it would be difficult and expensive. |

Let's say that I can't wait for the article and I don't subscribe to Old Cardboard because I'm cheap....let's just suppose. and maybe I completed a couple other team sets of a certain team and maybe I might be looking for another goal sometime soon...perhaps |
