Herb Score was a man among men. He could have faded from the scene ,embittered even, and noone would have been surprised.But he turned it all around in broadcasting.Very inspirational really.
One of my fondest memories was when Herb and Rocky Colavito came to our town in 1958. A huge crowd gathered and caused gridlock on the streets. Both those guys were like gods to us kids.We actually had a preety good team back then. Of course within a couple years they were both gone, but it was golden for a moment. What a contrast with the whiners we root for now.
