The card looks great it is Graded Authentic SGC. I'm Thinking about bidding, but what value does it take off the card? From the scan it looks great, I'm a collector who buy's the card......Thanks for the input. |

I'd personally rather have a trimmed card that looks great than a beater that looks like crap for the same price. |

I have no problem buying a trimmed card IF the card is scarce & the price is right (low). |

Lloyd Waner was the last card I needed to complete my Butter Cream set. When I was offered one that was trimmed, I was thrilled to get it. I still have not been able to upgrade it, but I'm much happier having one that's trimmed as opposed to having that hole to fill. |

Rob, just because I'm stating a fact does not make this personal. |

Let me guess: It sold for about 5x what you thought it would. Yeah, I haven't forgotten that prediction. |

I have and would, for the reasons stated by others, above. If it's an otherwise attractive card, not often available and there's an appropriate price, I'll go for it. Not to say there isn't a slight level of discomfort. |

Yeah, I remember that. About 5 mins after I made the prediction the price was already past it -- a week before the auction ended. |

There are some I would buy (with an appropriate price reduction) that had been wadded up and used in a slingshot, and then straightened out and ironed! |

I have no problem buying a nice looking tough pre-war card in an SGC Authentic holder. If I can upgrade it later, great, if not, I like it better than an SGC 10 (or raw card) which looks like it passed through the alimentary canal of a camel. |

I agree with most comments. A real, slightly trimmed sharp card is much nicer to have and to present than a true beater....I value them almost on par with 2s |

Yep. It only bothers me when I want to sell the card, as I find myself starting to resent the card for allowing itself to be trimmed. |
