I was very psyched about this E93 Evers with a yellow background. It should have a very strong orange background - like the example to the right. This is the first E93 color variation I have seen after looking at literally more than a thousand E93s over the years.

Jim - Great card! I really enjoy seeing those caramel cards that missed color passes during their original print runs. I can't remember seeing any other e93s like this either. It seems that back when Mastro had their e93 and e97 uncut sheets or blank backed cards up for auction, a card or two might have had a player with an abnormal jersey or skin color but nothing like that Evers.

I wonder why Mastro didn't include a mention of that missing color palette in the title of the auction?

Here are a few cards I won just now. I actually won this lot for the zeenuts it had so these three might be tradeable.

Jim- Congrats on the E93 Evers. I stayed with you for a long time on it but bailed because I have enough sets with color variations like the E94 Really a nice card and the background color and I think you got a nice deal and a sweet card.

I picked up the Broad Leaf 350 Huggins. Paid through the nose for it, but it is a rare back, hall of famer, that really is in PSA 6 or 7 condition if not for the up/down OC, which doesn't bother me in the least. Just a beautiful card to look at.

JP, I'm in total agreement with you! That BL Huggins is simply amazing...... The Card actually looks very complete, top to bottom offset doesn't take anything at all away from the Card imho.

Can we see a scan of the back?

Phil - I believe that the Lajoie Seed Card can be nailed down to 1902 which is the first year he played for Cleveland, and the last year that the company was still in business prior to being purchased by Eastman Kodak.

This Mastro pickup coincides with a 6-year effort to complete the E120 set. I received the last (240th) card in the mail today. Probably paid way too much for the albums, but - what the hell!

Kenneth -- Though I am not terribly familiar with the set (or those albums), I would say they are a spectacular 'finishing touch' to your set. What does the inside of them look like?

The set consists of 15 players from each of the 16 teams. Each album has 8 pages, one for each team. Each page has 15 rectangles with each player's name, on which the card was to be glued. Needless to say, I won't be glueing the cards into the album. Also, the team manager's name is at the top of the page.

Thanks for the explanation, Ken. Obtaining those albums seems like the perfect way to complete the set. Too bad there isn't some way to display the cards in the albums (safely), but a cool pick-up nonetheless.
