If you were given $10,000 and HAD to spend it on vintage cards, what would you buy? It can be an individual card or any combination of cards as long as it adds up to $10,000. Hopefully this one will be interesting! |

To answer my own question, I would try to buy all four T206 Ty Cobb cards in EX condition. |

That would be more then enough to put together a set of T206 backs with some in fairly good grade. |

Really it comes down to 2 choices. Several cards or just one. I always prefer the 1 card route. In that case with $10K it would be something incredibly rare from an unpopular set or semi-rare from a popular one. |

I'd finish off my T3 and E90-1 HOFer runs, and then get a T227 Cobb, an N172 Clarkson, Kelly, Keefe or Ward, and N28 HOFers until I reached $10K |

My first purchase would be an E107 Jimmy Collins (good condition.) I would then put together the PC742-1 Boston Americans Series set in VG condition. Finally, I would grab an M101-4 Joe Wood (with a Morehouse Baking back) in whatever condition the remaining budget would allow. |

Paul, I have a memory of an auction recently which featured a signed Cobb T205. Have you ever seen a signed T206? |

condition not overly important - just something about owning a four base hits metropolitans card - or any FBH for that matter.... Without "found" money it's not in the cards for the near future. I also would like to "cap" my mid-grade N28 set off with a CRISP Anson but have held off pulling the trigger. I even surprise myself with the last choice as the most striking Anson card to me is his N162. Need over desire "-) |

I would buy the remaining 21 cards that I need for my T206 HOFer set, not including Plank and Wagner of course. $10,000 would be just about enough to get all of those in EX to EX-MT condition. |
