Help with Mickey Mantle Rookie Cards

Does anyone know of reputable dealers that specialize in 1951 bowman and 1952 topps Mickey Mantle rookie cards that are already graded besides 707 sportscards? Any info is greatly appreicated.

Your thread can stay as we try to help folks but please keep in mind that this board focuses on cards that are Pre-WWII.....btw, my guess is ebay would be a good place...as well as Levi, that you mentioned...I am sure a few others will chime in for you. I've purchased through Levi and had a good experience. My guess is that you feel he is a bit overpriced on his some of cards and that's why you are looking for other reputable dealers?

Better to get these from a major auction or EBAY. You have to be patient and you might find a bargain which you will not get with most dealers. Here are 2 nice PSA Mantles on EBAY now:

nothing against John Lennon, and yes i know his actual birthdate is October 9, 1940, which would put him in the middle of WWII, but he isn't a Vintage. In fact Mantle is even more vintage October 20, 1931.

No offense moderator dude. just a thought.

Incorrect. We're having it.

Yes, Levi has very nice cards and when money is no object he is a very good source for baseball cards. For us working stiffs who need to make every dollar count, there are plenty of reputable dealers around the country who sell these cards through their websites, on ebay, in auctions and at cards shows.

Ok Damian, no problem....I just get irritated sometimes when folks say something about what is permitted and not...Just about anything Pre-WWII baseball card related is permitted and also off topics are permitted by regular board participants per the board rules (see FAQ's). Off topics are a privilege of posting and I think makes for a stronger family. The vast majority of people that ask questions haven't read the FAQ's yet. No offense taken and sorry for the strong tone....btw, I do a lot of things that are not really my personal choice but I feel are in the best interest of the board....best regards...

To be a rookie card for Mantle it must be a 1951 issue
Not 1952 or any other yr of your choice
It's NOT his Topps rookie unless Topps made a card of Mick in 1951
It's a FTC .......first Topps card
Is that too hard to digest?
Why do you never see a 1952 Topps Willie mays card advertised as his rookie card?
I have never seen such a card advertised
Or why doesn't anyone sell a 1952 bowman Mantle rookie?
Why do so many top dealers keep perpetuating this myth?
Maybe they don't know his what his rookie cards is?
Or maybe they just love to hype their wares?
What is it about the "rookie" mystique in card collecting?
Back in the 70's I never recall the 52 Mantle touted as a rookie card
