red cross type 1 vs. red cross type 2

i read somewhere awhile ago that the type 1 were "harder to find", "scarcer", "more rare" or however the correct way to say it is, than the type 2... is this true? (i will be parting with one soon and want to describe it correctly)

If price is any indication of relative scarcity, then Type I and Type II are virtually identical. The commons are very similar, but the Type I stars seem to command a very modest premium. Note that they have different checklists as well.
