Any idea what year Zeenut this is (and first name)?

The Zeenut is from the 1932 set, and if the first name hasn't been confirmed by tomorrow, I will track that info down.

it appears that there are three (3) Johnsons in the 32 set; Missions, Portland and Seattle.

thanks guys! the font and box around johnson's name is what threw me off. do you think that's just a creative job by a former owner or are there variations in the print?

That was my initial reaction as well. I have never seen that type face in a box on any zeenuts. This is not to say that there may be some variations out there, I just don't know.

But if it is Johnson it appears as best I can tell that it the Portland one if that is a P on his cap.

If it is indeed the Portland player, that would be major leaguer Robert "Indian Bob" Johnson, a pretty decent player in the 30's. Still will double check tomorrow...

It is indeed a 1932 Portland Zeenut card of the slugging Indian Bob Johnson.

thanks for the help guys! just to follow up- i finally have the card in hand. the font was an addition by someone else. the bottom was trimmed more than usual and someone cut out part of the bottom portion and added the typed label 'johnson'. it's at least interesting but not a variation
